January 2021 What to Expect Preschool through 6th Grade Dismissal @ 1:00 p.m.
As always, we remain committed to providing a high-quality educational experience for all students. The school board is scheduled to approve the return to 1:00 dismissal, for the first week of school after winter break. This decision was not made lightly, but was made with the health and safety of our students and staff in mind. With the rise in cases, our schools face many challenges if staff and students are absent.
We know that this decision will have an impact on our families. Franklin School will provide On-site, Learning with a shortened day, so that our teachers have the extra time to Zoom with learners whose parents wish to keep them at home. Children may continue to attend in person school and aftercare will be provided for those who truly need it. We hope that conditions will improve, however, we want our families to be able to plan for at least the first week of school, students will be dismissed at 1:00 p.m. We thank you for your continued support.
Drop off and Pick up Safety
Parents please allow our teachers to walk your child to and from the car. Our staff and students are told not to walk alone in the parking lot and only a teacher may escort them to a car behind a car. Do not drive around the car in front of you for any reason. At times, important information and flyers are handed out during morning drop off and dismissal as well. Thank you for your cooperation. If anyone wishes to report incidents during this time please call our office. It is for the safety of everyone that we remain consistent.
* Class Donations for Christmas * Families who wish to donate to students for Christmas, please call our Office Manager at 602-870-6674 to see how you can help.
January 11th Dental Fluoride and Sealant Program
If you have signed your child's consent form, they will receive fluoride treatment. For second grade, 5th and 6th grade, dental sealants will be provided. If you have never received a consent form and would like to allow your child to participate, you may call or email to have a paper form sent home with your child up until the day of scheduled visit.
What is the Cavity Free AZ Dental Sealant program?
Cavity Free AZ is a school-based dental program that provides free preventive care to students. This program is a partnership between Arizona Department of Health Services and Maricopa County Public Health.
Tax Donations
Our school like all other charter schools, receives much less state assistance than a traditional district school. For this reason Arizona Tax Credit Donations are very important. Almost everyone pays into the state income tax system. This program is a way that money can directly benefit your child’s learning instead of being used for other random state programs. Please talk to your tax advisor about this program. We could really use your help right now.
COVID-19 Information Updates
For COVID -19 information updates our administration looks at the county metrics each week on Thursdays. The metrics help guide decisions to influence some school decisions.
