North Kitsap Soccer Club
February Events & Announcements
Letter from the President
The Board met at the end of January to discuss how we can help reshape the Club for 2014. It was an opportunity to revisit how we continue to support our local youth with impactful programming that supports the NKSC mission. We have some great new Board members that are infusing new perspectives into our planning.
First and foremost, we are revamping our programs geared for our younger members – the Academy programs. This past year was a challenge (to say the least). But we are regrouping and going back to basics. There will be more details coming from our new Academy coordinator, Randi Aiken. But look for a revamped program that inspires our younger players to learn, grow and hone their soccer skills. Please attend the posted meetings if your schedules allow.
We are also branching off our Modified goals program under Paul Jacobs. This age group and skill level will see some dedicated effort designed for their needs. The Competitive and Recreational programs will have some opportunities this year to develop a bridge program—designed to address players that want to compete in more ambitious leagues but may not want to participate in year round programming.
NKSC still is in need of some additional Board members, so please consider volunteering. The NKSC Board is a group of dedicated individuals that needs your help and support. Any and all help is appreciated.
So bottom line – 2014 will see the Club redesign and reignite.
Registration opens this weekend for Spring programs and Competitive Boys tryouts are the end of this month. Some highlighted information is in this newsletter but look for announcements on the NKSC website and Facebook pages.
Finally, change seems to be the theme throughout the Kitsap soccer community. There are a number of initiatives that are in the discussion stages that we will keep you informed about as details are available.
Thanks to all our members who provide feedback and work with the Board to contribute to our continuous improvement efforts for our players, their families and our community.
See you on the pitch,

Attention High School Seniors: College Scholarships Available
As a community based organization, NKSC seeks to support its area youth first through the sport of soccer, but also through their ongoing education. NKSC awards four college-bound scholarships annually when available to graduating seniors. These seniors should be from area high schools and members of the club.* These scholarships have been established to provide college associated financial assistance for our club members. The deadline for these scholarship applications is May 1, 2014. *Click here to learn more about the requirements and to download the applications.
