Each group will provide the highlights of their chapter to the group through a 15 minute presentation and a handout with keypoints that are important to remember.

Tuesday, October 6: Gilstrap, Mohney, Thomas and Parsons will meet with the SRI coach, in your classrooms, about data reports for System 44 and Read180 .
Bookroom
You may check out the number of book bags needed for the number of reading groups that you have. For example, if you see four different level groups, check out a book bag for each group. Please return the book bags after 3 days to allow other teachers to have access to them. Enjoy!
Parent Teacher conferences
Please share the following information with parents during conferences:
- Current MAP/SRI score and the student's goal
- RSA plans ( signature needed)
- Pledge card (provided by Ms. Sherry)
- After-school Homework Club (information below)
The Tulsa City-County Library is offering an After-School Homework Club to children in grades 3-8. It will be held in the activity center at various library locations and is open from 3:30-5:30pm Monday through Thursday. It engages children focusing on positive, education-based activities. October is National Bullying Prevention Month!
Students are encouraged to identify adults wearing a blue shirt as a safe person to report bullying to.
iRead Online Course
TPS is offering an online class for K – 2 teachers through Edivate on iRead, a digital foundational reading program designed to close the achievement gap early and place ALL K – 2 children on a predictable path to reading proficiently by Grade 3. All K – 2 teachers who have not yet completed iRead training are required to complete the course.
All K – 2 teachers who have completed iRead training may choose to take it for review. All K – 2 teachers completing the online course by October 20 will receive a stipend for completing this 2 hour course at $18/hour provided they complete the course OFF CONTRACT hours. Please note that planning time is considered ON contract hours. Course activities are date and time stamped and indicate the amount of viewing time. Cl
Action Required for K-2 by October 20: All K–2 teachers who have not yet completed iRead training are required to complete the course.

October 24- 25 - Sapulpa Public Schools is hosting the regional GAFE Summit on October 24-25th. The Tulsa GAFE Summit is an exciting and unique regional opportunity for educators across the state to participate in a two day high-intensity workshop focusing on deploying, integrating, and using Google Apps for Education (and other Google tools) to promote student learning in K-12 and higher education.
