I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! A HUGE shoutout and thank you to our amazing PTA for organizing the Fall Festival. It is mine (and my boys) favorite event of the year and I was so sad to be out of town and miss it this year. I heard it was a wonderful time for our entire Ryan Community as usual!
Save the Dates: It's that time of the year again, conferences are coming up! Please watch for sign ups coming your way soon. This is a great opportunity for you to have a one on one conversation about your child's progress so far this year. Conferences will take place in person on Wednesday 10/12, Tuesday 10/18, and Thursday 10/20.

Register Now for the Rhino Stampede Fun Run!
Rhino Stampede
Our Rhino Stampede Fun Run will be this Friday, September 30!
This year, our entire school is raising funds for teacher resources, STEAM PBL, PBIS, and Rhino Clubs. Our goal is to raise $18,000, and, if you’d like to, we are inviting YOU to help!
Here’s how you can support Ryan Elementary PTA:
- 1. Register on mybooster.com tonight. It’s so easy!
- 2. Share about our fundraiser with your family and friends using the SHARE BUTTON on mybooster.com.
- 3. Give a donation, if you are able.
- 4. Volunteer to help the day of the run. We need parents to distribute water, mark off laps, and hand out otter pops after the race is over. You will need to have a Raptor background check completed to volunteer for this event—just fill out the form at https://www.bvsd.org/parents-students/get-involved/volunteers. We only need a few more volunteers!

Request From Ms. Wehr in the Gym
Hello Ryan Community! For PE we have two baskets of shoes that students may borrow to wear during their PE class in case they have forgotten PE shoes (any type of closed toe/heel tennis shoe, athletic shoe, sneaker, etc.) Our shoes to borrow are getting pretty worn down. If you happen to have any gently used PE shoes that your student no longer wears, and would like to donate them to our gym for students to use when needed, we would greatly appreciate it! (These shoes also help support any “shoe emergencies” that may arise during the school day 🙂) Thank you so much for your help!

ATTENDANCE ANOUNCEMENT
Tardies
Important learning takes place first thing in the morning and arriving late can be disruptive to the teacher and other students.
The first bell rings at 7:47AM (8:47 on Wednesdays), The tardy bell rings at 7:50AM (8:50 on Wednesdays). If a student arrives after 7:50AM, they are tardy and need to check in at the Office.

Dining Night Out
Our first Dining Night Out of the year will be at Mici Italian in Lafayette on Tuesday, October 4!
Mici will donate 20% of your purchase when you mention Ryan Elementary's name for dine-in, takeout, delivery, or catering orders! (Online orders, please indicate Ryan Elementary in the notes section).
Take a night off from cooking and raise money for Ryan at the same time!
Breakfast/Lunch Updates
As a reminder, breakfast and lunch are no longer free for every student, unless your family qualifies for Free/Reduced Lunch. Please visit the BVSD Food Services page for more information on fees, lunch menus, and setting up your child's account.
If you were approved for 2021-22 free & reduced-price meal benefits, they will carry over until 9/28/22. If we do not receive a new application by the end of the grace period, your child(ren)’s benefits will be canceled. Please keep in mind, it can take up to 10 days to process a new application.

El BVSD se enorgullece de poder continuar ofreciendo comidas gratis a todos los estudiantes, gracias a una exención otorgada por el USDA. Sin embargo, queremos que sepa que las solicitudes de comidas escolares sirven para algo más que comidas gratis.
Si fue aprobado para los beneficios de comidas gratis y a precio reducido de 2021-22, se transferirán hasta el 28/9/22. The Ryan Elementary Library is sponsoring a Book Character Pumpkin Contest!
- Decorate an artificial pumpkin as character from a book (no real pumpkins, please)
- Drop off your pumpkin in the library during the month of October
- 2 winners will be drawn on October 31
- Winners will get to choose a FREE book at the book fair (up to a $20 value)

Morning Reminders
- Wednesday Before School Care: please come to the front doors of the school with your child to sign them in with the supervision staff. Due to limited staff and a safety, students arriving after 7:50 will not be able to attend.
- There is no supervision in the mornings until 7:35. We ask that students do not arrive on school grounds prior to then.
- The bus lane is for buses only. Please utilize the parking lot hug & go for dropping students off.
- When students are dropped off, please walk around the front of the building to the playground and classroom doors. There is no supervision in the back of the building.
- Please be mindful of our school neighbors, observe no parking signs, and be respectful of their property.
- As much as we love all of your cute dogs and pets, we ask that they are kept at home during drop off and pick up.

New Bullying Reporting Process/Nuevo proceso para reportar intimidación o acoso escolar (bullying)
Last school year the Board of Education updated its policies around bullying, and investigating complaints around bullying (See Policy JDHB / JDHB-E). To make the reporting process as easy as possible for victims of bullying, the district has created a single form to make a bullying report.
Once submitted, the school principal will be notified of your submission and will promptly begin to investigate the complaint. Parents/guardians can then expect to receive a report of this investigation. You can make a bullying report using the form on the Help for Students page which is also linked at the top of our school website. Paper copies will also be available in our/ your school’s front office.
El año pasado el Consejo de Educación actualizó sus políticas sobre el acoso o intimidación escolar y la investigación de reportes de incidentes de intimidación o acoso escolar (refiérase a la Política JDHB / JDHB-E>). Para hacer que el proceso sea lo más fácil posible para las víctimas, el distrito creó un formulario único para reportar incidentes de acoso o intimidación escolar.

RevTrack Changes/Cambios en RevTrak
BVSD has implemented a centralized RevTrak web store (system used to collect fees) for all BVSD schools. Note for current BVSD parents: You will have to create a new login when using the system for the first time. Learn more about the benefits of this change and how to set up your account.
