Preschool Science: The Slide Experiment
We learned that looking carefully is the only way to learn about things around us.
We raced two different balls down the slide and made predictions on which one will get to the ground first.
This kind of activity is good to promote critical thinking and inquiry skills.
We went on A nATURE WALK!
SPECIAL VISITS OF THE WEEK
Learning about Feelings
Ms. Chrissie (counselor) came to visit the classroom and gave us some good advices on how to handle our emotions and feelings.

BALLS BALLS AROUND US!
Ball games are tons of fun, and there are so many possibilities! Foam ball, rubber ball, beach ball, tennis ball...we could go on and on, but I think you got the idea.
Especially with a bunch of kinesthetic learners , hands-on activities that incorporate physical movement can make all the difference in helping the children learn key skills and master fundamental concepts. Check out our selection of ball games and find a few for to do with your child today at home.
PK 3.1 WRECKING BALL
Ms. Ginni thought it would be fun to share one of her favorite demolition play activities, a DIY wrecking ball. It was so simple, but so fun!
When we were done with our block towers it was time for demolition and out came the wrecking ball! The girls and boys counted back from 10 and scream, “GOOO!!”
lEARNING HOW to Use Scissors
Cutting with scissors requires the skill of hand separation, which is the ability to use the thumb, index, and middle fingers separately from the pinkie and ring fingers.
This can be challenging for a youngster with small hands. Although many 3- or 4-year-olds have the skills needed to snip and cut, scissor skills are not fully developed until around age 6.
Some friends in our class are showing an interest in using scissors, so we started exercising their fine motor skills with these essential rules.
- Scissors are only for cutting paper. Nothing else! (This includes shirts, crayons, fingers, hair, and lips.)
- Avoid walking with scissors. So there is no risk of children walking around while opening and closing the blades.
- Respect others body. Do not touch your friends when you are using scissors.

Writing My Frist Word: My Name!
Bubble painting
Bubble painting is a classic children’s art activity because the bubbles are amazingly versatile.
We mixed the paint (in this case tempera) with a little water, and a squirt of washing-up liquid, then we blew into it with a straw to create lots and lots of bubbles.
We then gently placed the paper over the bubbles to take a print from them.
COOKING ACTIVITY
Cooking can help us learn and practice some basic math concepts and build language skills. The experience of creating meals with an adult can help build their self-confidence and lay the foundation for healthy eating habits.
Preschoolers love to show what they can do and working in the "kitchen" provides opportunities to gain a sense of accomplishment.
mS. sARAH'S VISIT
In our classroom we embrace and respect all the different celebrations from around the world. We learn a little about each culture and we LOVE to receive visits in the classroom. All the visitors (parents, grandparents, siblings, friends) make our SCHOOL FAMILY stronger!
This week Ms. Sarah (Lola's mom) came to talk about some celebrations and traditions during the fall season in the United States.
She talked brought an orange spider web and we all played together pulling the corners of the web.
Then she explained us that the color orange represents the season. Ms. Sarah carved a very nice pumpkin and we roasted the seeds with salt and oil...YUM YUM YUM!!
Lola also shared spooky popcorn with us during this activity.
THANK YOU TO THE TATUM FAMILY FOR SAHRING WITH US!
