Come join us at our 1st annual Jackie Robinson Baseball Day!

This day is in honor of Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play Major League Baseball! This event takes place where Jackie Robinson once played, at the Brooklyn Dodger Stadium! There will be refreshing drinks and snacks for sale too!

Courtesy of the Dodgers, we will be selling Jackie Robinson t-shirts with 42 on the back and hats with the Dodgers symbol.

We will also be holding a home run derby (open to everyone) starting at 12:30, sign up at 12:15.

Rachel Robinson

Rachel Robinson was born on July 19, 1922. She was born in Los Angeles, California. Rachel's middle name was Annetta and her maiden name was Isum. Rachel and Jackie met at the College UCLA, University of California, Los Angeles, in 1941. A friend of Rachel's, Ray Bartlett, introduced Rachel to Jackie. Jackie and Rachel were engaged in 1943 and they "called off" the engagement. They got engaged again in 1944. Jackie and Rachel got married on February 10, 1946 in Los Angeles, California, at the Independent Church. Rachel Robinson was very caring and loving of Jackie Robinson.
