Summer News
Hello Husky Families-
I hope this newsletter finds you all well and you and your family are enjoying your summer as best as can be. We are currently working on a variety of plans on how school will proceed in August. Plans will be shared at the Board of Education meeting this Wednesday, 7/22 at 7:00 p.m. As you know, plans and guidelines change at a moment's notice and we are working hard to be prepared for a variety of scenarios including remote learning, a hybrid plan of in-person instruction and remote learning as well as a full return to in-person instruction. We appreciate your continued patience as we work through many details as we ensure the safety and well being of all students and staff members. Please continue to look for communication from Superintendent Havis as well as myself as plans will be shared with the community soon.
In order for us to continue to make accommodations in staffing and classroom sizes we need everyone to complete returning student registration as soon as possible. If you have any questions regarding registration please email hiawathareg@bsd100.org and we would be happy to support you.
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns we can help you with.

Summer Reading Program
We’d like to invite all families to participate in our summer reading program during June, July, and August. Families can sign up by clicking on the link below and downloading the reading logs from our Summer Reading website. We encourage students to read around 30 minutes each day. Younger children can read on their own, with an adult, or listen to audiobooks. Students who fill out the reading log can submit it each month to summerreading@bsd100.org.

Please look for registration codes in your email and visit our website for additional information. In order to effectively plan for class sections for next school year, we ask that all returning students complete the online registration this week. The entire process, including payment, can be completed online. If you prefer to pay in person at a later date, you will be able to select that option through the online registration process. Just a reminder that Comcast is offering free internet service through an offer that began last week. We encourage families without internet access to consider taking advantage of this offer.
Our staff is continuing to upload resources and activities to our PowerLearning pages and providing e-learning resources for our students to continue to learn at home.
