The summer is coming to a close, much faster than we expected. BBQ's, vacations and rooftop soirees have probably been on your calendar intermittently this season. The fun doesn't have to come to an end!
Helping Enrich DC's Earphone Project is asking you to become a volunteer by donating 15 minutes of your time on August 10th. It's as easy as 1 - 2 - 3!
1/ Come in at your scheduled time to select a book from our mobile library to read an abbreviated selection of your desired book.
2/ Read your book aloud (no children will be present).
3/ Be inspired by your contribution. It will impact a child in your community.
We record your voice to populate our growing directory of short stories accessible by any child in the District to hear and follow along. Your service to the Project will help children increase their aptitude for reading by being able to follow along with your voice. These stories can be accessed by children any time, day or night, on a toll-free number.
Your story will help encourage a child to read independently and confidently, once they see and hear how cool YOU make reading! Wow, and it only takes 15 minutes.
Helping Enrich DC is a 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit created to address the low literacy rates in school age children and adults in Washington, DC by assisting them with the opportunity to become successful scholars, explore the world initially through books, positively impact their community and, subsequently, provide them with marketable career options.
