LIBRARY NOOK

Happy fall! We have been studying genres for the past few weeks in the upper grades and manners in grades K-1. Next week we will be talking about the upcoming red ribbon week and starting previews for our book fair!

The link for our book fair's homepage is posted below. Thank you to all of you who make our book fairs so successful!! After 3 years of saving, we were finally able to buy our library an official circulation desk! I am so happy and our library is looking great with new books all around as well.

Mrs. Taylor's first grade was the first class to turn in all library letters signed! Each child received a book to keep (thank you Mrs. Lovelace)! The rest of the classes are getting close. The first class in each grade level received a treat!

Bookfair is coming! October 23rd-November 3rd.

NURSE RX

Winter is just around the corner and it is time to be thinking of making sure your child has winter gear. There are many places in the valley that have gently used winter gear at either minimal cost or free. These places are listed below:

  • Big Lake Clothing Closet-- All items are free
  • Turning Leaf - In Wasilla -- Wednesday is discount day for children's clothing and outdoor gear. (.50 for all clothing and $1.00 for coats etc.)
  • Value Village--In Wasilla-- Prices change depending on the discount of the day.
  • Salvation Army--In Wasilla-- Prices change depending on the sale rack of the day.

The closer we get to snow the less items these stores will have available thus now is the time to look. The nurse does not have gear to loan and it is getting colder at recess. Students go outside for recess for half hour each day. They will go outside in the winter until it is 10 degrees below zero.

If you have any questions please call Nurse Moore at 892-9705 or e-mail me at Nancy.Moore@matsuk12.us
