SPRING BREAK HOLIDAYS MARCH 9 - 13
Vacaciones de Primavera 9 - 13 de marzo
Happy Friday Shooting Stars! ***** ¡Feliz Viernes Estrellas Fugaz!
This week our students traveled, explored, and experienced in so many ways!
Our theme for this Experience Week was "Oh, the Places You'll Go!" Our teachers designed grade level themes that really connected with content. Space travel, traveling back in time, traveling in a book, traveling to different countries... there was so much going on at school. We even had a flight simulator and some animals from around the globe stop by!
We were able to showcase just what we mean by this during our Open House last night... I hope you were able to experience this with us! Take a look at the pictures below if you didn't get a chance to visit.
Also, this week we changed our arrival procedures to try to offset the traffic between 7:30-7:40. It seems to have helped! At this point, we don't have lines during this time. Please be sure to have your child into school BY 7:40 (this is when classroom instruction begins). If you are late, you will need to park your car, sign in through the kiosk, and drop your child off in the front office. This ensures that they make it into us, and they have adult supervision.
We appreciate your assistance in this!

Brief Reminders/ Recordatorios Breve
1. BREAKFAST
The school doors open at 7:15 for students, if you child is having breakfast it is imperative that they get to school on time so they are not tardy to class. Breakfast will stop at 7:35. We advise for students who wish to eat breakfast arrive no later than 7:20 to allow plenty of time to go through the breakfast line and eat their breakfast before the 7:40 bell rings. Students should be in class and ready to learn at 7:40 pm. After 7:40 students will be marked absent.
A reimbursable breakfast is offered at all schools for $1.45 paid and $0.30 reduced-priced. Breakfast times may vary slightly per campus, see below for advertised serving times:
Elementary schools: 7:15 a.m. - 7:35 a.m.
Middle schools: 7:30 a.m. - 8 a.m. with a second breakfast option per campus schedule
High schools: 7:50 a.m. - 8:40 a.m. with a second breakfast option per campus schedule
2.DROP OFF
The quickest and safest way to drop off your child is in the back driveway and we recommend that all parents use this method for drop off. Staff are waiting to greet your child and escort them into the building beginning at 7:15 a.m.
If your child arrives after 7:40 please park in the front parking lot and escort your child to the front office to ensure safe arrival for all students.
If you are walking to drop off your child, please be prepared to leave them at the front door. Talking to them about this ahead of time will help make the transition much easier. It is natural for students to be anxious about change so having a routine of hugging, saying your goodbyes and then letting them walk in will make it easier. We also let children know that mom's and dad's have work that they need to do and students have work to do at school. We also remind them that their families will be back to pick them up as soon as school is over!
3. PICKUP
If you are driving to the campus to pick up your child please use the back driveway. We will bring your child directly to your car. This is the safest method for pickup.
When using the back driveway to pick up your child, please display your yellow/pink car tag sign to the staff member who is calling names to the gym. To help them please hold up your sign and show this to them for easier viewing. Please leave the sign visibly displayed until your child is loaded into your vehicle. We have several staff members helping with our pickup system and this helps ensure a smooth and efficient dismissal.
Thank you very much as we strive to ensure safe and smooth drop off and pick up procedures for all students.

1. DESAYUNO
Celebrating Birthdays
Due to a rise in the number of students that have reported food-related allergies, we ask parents
who are interested in celebrating their child's birthday at school to send a non-edible treat (stickers, pencils, etc.)
Please no balloons due to latex allergies. Please make sure you include ALL students in the class.
The students love stickers, pencils, bubbles, etc. and our SLE teachers do a wonderful job at making sure our students feel special on their birthdays. We ask parents to please send these items with the student or drop off in the front office by 2:15 PM.
********************************************
