Happy First Week of School!
Our Motto: Teaching the Mind...Nourishing the Soul
Theme for the Year - Goodness
At St. Joseph Catholic School, we are striving to become missionary disciples, recognizing the goodness of God in our lives and in the world around us, each and every day.
Our Mission and Vision Statements
Mission:
St. Joseph Catholic School provides students with a safe and prayerful learning environment, enveloped by an intimate community of active and faithful families.
Vision:
Catholic schools in the Diocese of Fort Worth are committed to opening the doors so that our students can reach further than the walls that would otherwise enclose them and therefore are able to recognize and cherish the eternal and transcendental goods of Truth, Beauty, and Goodness.
From the Principal
Welcome back, Knights! Happy Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary!
I know it is hard to get back into the swing of early mornings for all of us, but I must tell you how truly wonderful it has been to see you all back in school this week! We welcome all of our new Knight families to St. Joseph Catholic School, and marvel at the growth of everyone returning.
We have much to celebrate and to be thankful for at SJCS. We get to live out our faith in prayer and actions as missionary disciples each and every day, as well as attend mass as a community once a week. This past May we were accredited once again by the Texas Catholic Conference of Bishops Education Department. And let us not forget, we are entering our 25th year of excellence in education and our enrollment is steady! We could not be the school we are today without the efforts of past and present families. Thank you for entrusting us with the care and education of your children.
It is our wish to help all students at St. Joseph to grow in wisdom and virtue. We are working to foster in our students a sense of wonder about the world, with an ability to see God in all things and to discern what is True, Good, and Beautiful. Having a Catholic classical approach to our curriculum affords our students the opportunity to collaborate, problem solve, present their thoughts articulately, and to share ideas; all for a deeper relationship with Christ, witnessing the goodness of God.
As the new year progresses, I want you to know we are partners in the education of your child. Do not hesitate to share your observations, thoughts and ideas. We are always working to create the best environment for your child. Together, we accomplish great things!
In Christ's service,
Diane Price, M.Ed.L.

Safe Environment Training Requirement
Per the Diocese, as of 8/01/19 all school volunteers must be current on Safe Environment Training to volunteer in any role at the school. You need to go on the VIRTUS website and make a profile: https://www.virtusonline.org/virtus/ You can do this without signing up for a class. Profiles are needed in the new system so we know you have previous training, as the old database is no longer open for viewing.
Training dates are offered at various locations across the diocese. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Lori Zalesak in the school office for assistance. In addition to all her other duties, she is our Safe Environment Coordinator.
