Delta Zeta
Twin Cities Alumnae Bi-Monthly Mini (Print) - January 2014
President's Letter
Greetings!
A new year is upon us so I hope you’ll consider joining your Delta Zeta sisters at an upcoming outing – whether it is volunteering with Second Harvest Heartland, enjoying an evening with your Panhellenic sisters at the Badge Day Social, or attending the delightful Spring Luncheon – we would love to see you.
On behalf of our chapter, I also want to express my appreciation to the sisters who paid their annual membership dues. Your continued support funds our national and Twin Cities Alumnae Panhellenic dues, assists with programming, supports the Gamma Scholarship, and so much more.
The slate of officers for 2014 – 2016 is presented in this issue of the newsletter. I wish to thank our sisters who have volunteered to serve as an officer for our chapter. The installation of officers will be held at the Spring Luncheon in March.
It’s not too early to mark your calendar for Region Day which is planned for Saturday, April 26. Details are forthcoming so stay tuned to the March edition of the newsletter!
May this be the happy beginning of a wonderful year for you!
In the flame,
Barb Jones Brotherton
Slate of Officers for 2014-2016
The following people have accepted the committee nomination to the slate for the 2014-2016 board term. The information for adding people to the slate is listed below per our bylaws Article IV, section 4 and 5. Per the bylaws, we will vote on the slate at our spring luncheon on March 22. If you want to nominate another member for a position on the slate, please send a signed letter to me, Shelley Monitor, 1890 Ide St, Maplewood, MN 55109.
Nominations of Chapter Officers and Standing Committee Chairs.
The Executive Board of the Twin Cities Alumnae Chapter shall appoint a nominating committee chair and at least two (2) committee members prior to or by December 1 previous to a nominating year. The nominating committee shall make its report to the Executive Board before February 1. Additions to the slate may be made by March 1, to the nominating committee, and requires the written consent of the nominee and the written request of three (3) other Chapter members to place the name on the ballot.
Election of Chapter Officers and Standing Committee Chairs.
The election of Chapter officers and standing committee chairs shall be immediately upon the close of nominations, March 1. In the event there is but one candidate for an office, the secretary shall be instructed to cast a unanimous vote for the nominee. If there is more than one candidate for any office/standing committee chair, all members in good standing present (except for the President) will vote at a Chapter meeting held by March 31. In the event of a tie, the Chapter President will cast the deciding vote. All officers and standing committee chairs will be presented in the next Chapter correspondence.

Philanthropy Event - Thursday, February 20, 6-8 p.m.
Join us in our first philanthropy event of the year at Second Harvest Heartland in Golden Valley to help provide hunger relief for our community. On Thursday, February 20 from 6-8 pm we will be helping to sort, label and re-package bulk food (cereals and pasta for example) that has been donated for those in need. These items will then be donated to food shelves and soup kitchens. Please arrive at 5:45 pm wearing comfortable clothes and closed-toed shoes. You will be asked to remove all jewelry except for wedding bands, so it might be best to leave the bling at home. Please RSVP to the Evite you have been emailed as we must reserve the amount of spots we need in advance. Thank you for volunteering with us, we look forward to another fun event! Any questions can be directed to Katie Whitehead at katiewucf@gmail.com.

Save the Date!
The updated TCA events calendar is included. Future dates are set for a philanthropy night, Region XIII weekend, and the Starkey Gala. We also have tentative dates for other events. If you would like to be involved in hosting or planning an event, contact Julie Hauser.
In addition to our events, consider attending a Twin Cities Alumnae Panhellenic Association (TCAPA) event. TCAPA plans several events throughout the year. These events are a great opportunity to network with sorority women in the Twin Cities. Mark your calendars and watch more more information to come via email.
