Why do we need vitamins?
An old saying we've all heard at least once, apples may in fact keep the doctor away. According to HowStuffWorks.com apples have phytonutrients which help reduce the risk of heart disease, diabetes and asthma. Not only that but apples have Vitamin C which boosts immunity and overall health. Why is that important? When flu season comes around every year we can prevent ourselves from getting the virus and if we can keep our overall health up and strong we can help prevent from getting sick.
Enough about apples, there are plenty of foods packed with multiple vitamins that are essential to our health. Other foods like blueberries, grapes, guavas, bananas and limes all have vitamins like A, C, and K.
Vitamin C helps growth and repair of tissues in our bodies. They repair and maintain cartilage, bones and teeth. They help wounds heal and scar tissue form. Vitamin A helps maintain clear skin, teeth and skeletal and soft tissue. Vitamin K helps our arteries and blood vessels from not getting blood clots; which can prevent strokes, heart attacks and other serious medical problems.
