Information about ConVal District Community Forums
The ConVal School Board, working with the ConVal Administration, is pleased to announce its first ever Community Forum.
The ‘public comment’ periods at the beginning and end of the School Board meetings have been a source of frustration for some in the community. Board meetings are designed to conduct the business of the District and therefore there is limited time for meaningful dialogue between the public and the Board.
We have listened to our community and in our ongoing effort for full transparency we have structured this Community Forum to allow for discussion on community selected topics with questions to and answers from the school board and administration. The Board and Administration look forward to hearing from our nine communities in a constructive and flexible manner.
Please mark your calendars for Thursday, September 30 at 7:00 PM to attend our first Community Forum at the Lucy Hurlin Theatre located at the ConVal High school.
More information will follow with details about the forum, and how to participate in a survey to determine forum topics. We look forward to strengthening our partnership with our communities with this opportunity for a more open dialogue.
Message from Principal Nicole Pease
We continue to work on administering fall assessments and teacher will use this data to guide instruction and to assess learning throughout the year. You can help by ensuring your child is rested and ready for school.
We bid goodbye to Mrs. Parker and Health and Wellness for a few weeks, and welcome Mrs. Mack, our Library Media Specialist to HES next week!
Have a restful weekend! Nicole
Picture Day is Coming Up!
Kindergarten with Mrs. Goodington
News from Grade 1 with Miss Harrington
2nd Grade with Mrs. Shultz
3rd Grade with Mrs. LaCroix
Hello! Here in 3rd grade, we are hard at work in the world of multiplication and division! Students are creating arrays and number bonds to create a strong understanding of the two operations. 3rd graders are learning to write their opinion and support their opinions with at least 3 reasons. We are also learning about the cardinal directions, raptors, and narrative poems! Happy fall from the 3rd grade at HES!
4th Grade with Mrs. Nevins
Fourth grade has been busy! In Math, students have been developing their understanding of numbers by learning about different place values. We have started our Human Machine Unit where students investigate structures and functions of the human body. Students have also been working on realistic fictional stories by using drop-down flow charts to plan their thinking, writing rough drafts and use teacher comments to edit their writing.
Please remember to update Pick Up Patrol
One of the aspects of a new school year that can be challenging is the bus routes. It takes time for new drivers and students to get used to the timing of the pick ups and drop offs. Each day has gone a bit more smoothly.
Please help us by updating any changes in drop off or pick up through Pick Up Patrol. If you have any questions about PickUp Patrol, please reach out to Lindsay Carter in the front office.
Thank you!
