Graduation Gear Up!
Time To Register and Pay for AP Exams!
ATTENTION AP (Advanced Placement) Students and Parents:
It's time to begin the process of securing an AP EXAM order!! If you are taking an AP course, we highly encourage you to register and pay for your AP Exam so that you may earn college credit for your AP Course. Even if you don't earn the college credit, this is a great practice for high-stakes college exams.
This is a 2 step process beginning Oct 3 and ending at NOON on Nov 4.
- STEP #1 The student must create an account at myap.collegeboard.org
- ***This account ORDERS the exam
- ***Most have created their account already so they can JOIN the class and have access to online materials
- SEPT #2 Go to www.totalregistration.net and PAY for the exam.
- NO LATE ORDERS are allowed.
Have You Registered to Vote?
National Voter Registration Day is on September 20th and the North Library is participating! During upperclass lunch in the library, register to vote if you're 18 or you will be 18 on Election Day (November 8th). Thank you to the League of Women Voters of Norman, DEN, and North's Women's Advocacy Club for partnering with us.

Congratulations AP Scholars!
This week we were able to celebrate our AP Scholars by putting yard signs in their yards! We hope that you enjoy this special recognition! Thank you to Rita Uhlenhake, our AP Coordinator, who placed these signs in yards! The AP Scholars designations are created by College Board and are awarded based on the following criteria:
- An AP Scholar is granted to students who receive scores of 3 or higher on three or more AP Exams.
- An AP Scholar with Honors is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken, AND scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
- An AP Scholar with Distinction is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken, AND scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
We are very proud that at NNHS we had 42 AP Scholars, 28 Scholars with Honors, and 48 Scholars with Distinction! Our AP Scholar Yard Signs simply say "AP Scholars" to recognize these 118 scholarly students who will be taking a lot of college credits with them after they graduate from college!
SAFETY IS EVERYONE'S PRIORITY
Having an incredible learning environment where each student finds success and support for his/her goals and dreams is not possible without a safe environment. Throughout this year, everyone will be involved in more frequent safety training and discussions.
The first change that we are making is that ALL STAFF and STUDENTS must have a STAFF or STUDENT ID easy visible above their waist. This is to assist with faster identification of who should be on our campus and who should not.
Parents, it can be difficult for teenagers to always remember their ID but this is as important , if not more important, as bringing their MacBook to school. We will be giving each student 2 IDs to begin the year. After that if a student arrives at school, he/she will be escorted to get another ID and $5.00 will be charged to his/her account. Students will not be allowed to travel in the building without an ID around their neck. We need for parents to help remind their children each day of their ID. Where can the ID be hung each day so that it's easy to grab and put around the child's neck? You can help make this a priority just like the MacBook.
Second, while our safety committee has always been important, we are going to increase the frequency of meetings so that we are continually evaluating the safety of our staff and students. We would like to have 2 parents and 2 students join this committee. If you are interested, please fill out the attached form: 22-23 Safety Committee Volunteer Form.
If you have any safety questions or concerns, please let me know.
Thank you for making Norman North High School a safer school!
