Getting Ready for School - We're Digging In to Learning
Remote Learning Students!
Also, don't forget about the Remote Learning Student Material Pick up Drive Through scheduled for August 18th from 1:00-3:00 PM. (Location: Back of the School Bus Lanes) We have been busy gathering items that your child will need to get off to a great start. See you then!
Note about iPad and Chromebooks:
- Incoming Remote Kindergarten students will pick up their iPad at this time.
- Incoming Remote 1st Grade students will pick up their iPads if they didn't get one last spring.
- Incoming 2nd Grade students should bring their D303 iPad and we can swap it out for a ChromeBook.
If you do not have a D303 issued iPad or Chromebook we can make sure you have what you need! I would highly recommend you use one of the D303 devices, as they come preloaded with all the apps that your child will need.
Open House for 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade In-Person Students Aug 19th! (see times for each class below)
Each and every one of our 3rd, 4th, and 5th Grade Students are invited to come to school on the afternoon Wednesday, Aug. 19th. (First Day of School) At this Open House, students will be welcomed at the front of the school by a friendly Anderson Teacher and guided by staff stationed in the hallway, right to their new classroom. Their grade level teacher will greet them at the door and students will have a chance to see their classroom, meet their teacher, and hear some important information. If you were not able to drop off school supplies at our Drive Through on Aug. 17th, students can bring their supplies to this event. See the specific times below for each specific class.

Ms. Reyes, Mrs. Adams, Mrs. Magnussen
1:45-2:15 4th Grade
Ms. Leckbee, Dr. Aiello, Mrs. Kathe
2:30-3:00 5th Grade

3rd-5th Parents,
Of course, we would normally love to welcome you into the building as well, however, we ask that you wait outside. Mr. Jarot (Principal) will be available to talk with you and answer any questions you may have about the start of the school year. Don't forget to have your student wear their mask/face covering to the Open House.
Very Important: See Below regarding the Self Certify Process for Open House and every day before school.
See you soon,
Mr. Jarot
Please complete the D303 Self-Certify Process before sending your child to the Open House Event
How to Self-Certify
On the day of the Open House, Aug 19th, please use this Self Certification web site and login using your HAC Parent username and password. (you can use a smartphone or computer)
Once you are logged in, for each of your students please read the screening questions to determine if your student meets the criteria and is healthy to come to school each day.
You will select No to each of the questions if your student is healthy and ready to come to school.
You will select Yes for any of the questions if your student is experiencing any of the symptoms related to COVID-19.
Once you make your selection, please click Submit. When you select No, the app will present you with a Green Pass; When you select Yes, a Warning will be displayed indicating that your student should not attend school that day
The self-certification must be completed before your child comes to the Open House or meet and greet. When you arrive for the meet and greet we will ask you to confirm that you have completed the self-certification checklist.
During the school year, you will log in each day and answer the screening questions before your child leaves for school. A luggage tag on your child's backpack will be used for you to initial and date a "green pass" or "a clear to come to school". This process will be shared with you next week.
The video linked here was created for our high school parents self-certifying their students for athletic practice. However, the same process will be used for the Kindergarten Meet and Greets, 3rd-5th Open House, and during the school year. Of course, our elementary students will not use a phone, we will use the Luggage Tag initialed by their parents.
Are you kidding me? I will never remember to do all these steps! Have you ever tried to get 4 kids ready for school? :)
If you are confused, lost, maybe a little frustrated and thinking... "How am I going to remember the website link, checking boxes, initialing luggage tags, Ahhhh!...', Don't Worry. Mr. Jarot is making a home video of him doing the process for his boys. And we all know, If Mr. Jarot can do this, anyone can. We are here to help. We can do this!
- Every Morning you open HAC and complete the Self-Certification Checklist for each of your kids. (I suggest saving the link to HAC on your phone or tablet)
- If you answered "Yes" to any of the questions, your child needs to stay home.
- If you answered "No" to all of the questions, find your child's backpack.
- Add your initials to the luggage tag that is attached to their backpack and they are good to go!
- It's really that simple. You've got this!
Need a thermometer? We can help!

School Supply Drop Off for In Person Learning Students
Who?
All 1st-5th Grade In-Person Learning Students.
Monday, August 17th from 12:00-4:00 PM
What?
School Supply "Drop Off Drive-Through", where all families can drive through our bus lanes in the back of the school and drop off their student's school supplies. Please put all of their supplies in some type of plastic bag with their name on it. We will collect them, keep them organized by grade, and deliver them to their individual classrooms. (You could use a garbage bag, and staple a piece of paper with their name on it.) Just like in the spring, when we had material pick up, we will work hard to make this Supply Drop Off Drive Through is fun and full of "Back to School Energy".
Where?
Simply pull to the back of the school and drive through the bus lanes. Staff will greet you and collect your child's bag of school supplies.
Why?
This will allow all of your students' materials to be waiting for them in their classroom. Teachers can collect and organize materials before the first day of school.
Kindergarten Supply Drop Off, Meet-n-Greet, and Virtual Open House
Virtual Meet-n-Greet and Teacher Welcome Videos!
In addition, each teacher is also making a Welcome Video where they will introduce themselves to their new students and families as well as give a simple tour of the classroom.
Keep a lookout in your inbox for the invitation and video coming soon.

News from the Nurse
Health Office update:
Please send an extra set of clothing (shirt, pants, underwear, socks) in a Ziplock bag, labeled with your child's name, to school on the first day. This bag will be stored in the classroom to be used in case of accidents or spills. If a student does not have an extra set of clothes to change into when necessary, parents will be called to come to school to provide them. Thank you for your understanding.
