Big picture

Wrestling Finishes 3rd at State


Hewitt-Trussville Wrestling capped an outstanding season with a 3rd place finish at the AHSAA State Tournament. It was a five place improvement over the teams' 8th place finish in 2020. The 3rd place finish was the best team finish since 2015.

Hunter Jones went a perfect 4-0 on the weekend and won the 195lb state title capping an undefeated season. Jones defeated Dawson Rye of Hoover 4-3 in a tight championship match. Jones earned 26 team points over the weekend.

Logan Reaves placed 2nd in the 138lb weight class and earned 24 team points on the weekend. Lucas Reaves placed 2nd in the 152lb weight class and earned 20 team points.

Girls Basketball Travels to Sparkman for Sweet 16 Round


Hewitt-Trussville Girls Basketball will travel to Sparkman Thursday night for the Northeast Regional Semifinal. The game is scheduled to tip off at 6:30pm. The Huskies are 26-4 overall on the season. The winner of Thursday's game will advance to the Northeast Regional Final at Jacksonville State University. The Regional Final is scheduled for February 24.


Tickets will be made public on GoFan at 4pm on February 17.

Girls Soccer Wins Two in Foley


Hewitt-Trussville Girls Soccer traveled to Foley over the weekend for the Southern Shootout. After dropping the first game of the event to McGill-Toolen, the Huskies responded with a 3-1 win over Enterprise and a 6-0 win over St. Michael.


Kaylee Rivas opened the scoring against Enterprise with an unassisted goal in the first half. Jocelyn Davis added two goals to give the Huskies a 3-0 lead.


Audrey Campbell opened the scoring against St. Michael as she scored off a corner kick. Caitlyn Mosley then found the back of the net off an assist from Audrey Campbell. Julia Farris scored two goals and Jocelyn Davis and Brooklyn Johnson added a goal each.


The JV Girls went unbeaten in Foley and captured the Southern Shootout JV title.

Softball Home Tournament Cancelled; Team Opens Season Wednesday


Hewitt-Trussville Softball was scheduled to host a season-opening tournament on Monday. That event was cancelled due to weather. The Huskies will now open the 2021 season on Wednesday at 6pm vs Mortimer Jordan.

Boys Golf Season Opener Postponed


Hewitt-Trussville Boys Golf was scheduled to open the season on February 15 at Limestone Springs. The tournament was postponed until March 22. The Huskies will now begin the season with the Joe King Memorial in Auburn February 26 and February 27.

Middle School Tennis Wins Opener


HTMS Tennis opened the season with a sweep of Bragg. Both the HT Boys and the HT Girls won 8-1. The Huskies are scheduled to be back in action on Thursday against Liberty Park.

HTMS Softball Wins on Opening Weekend


HTMS Softball opened the 2021 season over the weekend with a pair of wins in the Leeds Tournament. The Huskies opened the event with a 13-4 win over Leeds. Later Friday night, the Huskies blanked Pizitz 8-0. The team is scheduled to be back in action Wednesday when they host Bragg at the Trussville Youth Complex.
