Colossus

Colossus was designed by engineer Tommy Flowers. It was a electronic device used by British code breakers in WW1 to help read hidden German because of the colossus the war ended 2 years earlier. it had also produced masses of heat which the workers took to their advantage and dried their clothes.

Tommy Flowers

Tommy Flowers had earned his degree in electrical engineering from the University of London. Tommy later gained experience working on telephone exchanges and by 1939 became convinced that a completely electronic system was possible. At the very same time, Europe was descending into the chaos of war.
