Mesa Elementary November 2019

A Message From Our Principal

Hello Mesa families,

Many thanks to those of you that attended parent-teacher conferences at the end of 1st quarter! Communication between school and home is a vital component in the success of our students. We are so thankful for you and your commitment to the continued success of all Mesa students.

With November being a month to celebrate thanks, I would like to thank you for the opportunity to continue to work with you and your students. It is a blessing to be a part of the Mesa community! This month will offer a chance for us to give back to the Fountain community as well with our food drive. Please check the website for more information on how you can participate and help Fountain families in need.

This week we celebrated Red Ribbon week. Red Ribbon week is dedicated to educating students about drug awareness and making healthy choices. Thank you for helping your son/daughter participate in the spirit days! It was so fun to see our students dressed in their theme-wear and enjoying one another’s creativity.

If you are looking for a way to become even more involved with our Mesa community, please consider attending our monthly PTO and/or SAAC (school accountability and accreditation committee). We love having parent involvement and hearing your ideas on how we can continue to improve. Please check our website for more information on ways to be involved in the decision making process for Mesa.

On Tuesday, November 19th, Mesa will host its annual Thanksgiving feast in our cafeteria. There will be more information coming home with a new lunch schedule for that day as well as lunch fees. Please come to eat with your son/daughter and help us to celebrate Thanksgiving!

Mesa will also be honoring Veterans on Wednesday, November 6th at 5:30pm in the gym. Mr. Darpino has worked hard to prepare our 2nd grade students to perform that evening. We will also have a brief flag presentation from our local VFW. If you are available to attend, we would love to have you! This celebration of our Veterans is open to all of our Mesa families.

On November 11th, District Eight will be closed to honor Veterans that have served our great nation. Finally, there will not be school the week of November 25th – 29th. This is a week for all of us to spend time and make memories with our families and friends. Happy Thanksgiving!!

Thank you for the privilege of working with you and your children!
