Show Choir and Chorus News

The Muscle Shoals High School Drama department featuring the MSHS chorus will present Freaky Friday on December 7th at 7pm in the Stratford Auditorium. This is a one night only event that you won’t want to miss. Tickets are $5 per person.
Congratulations to the following drama students for advancing to State in the Walter Trumbauer Theater competition: Emma Mauldin, Riley Grace Inman, Kristen Liles, Garyson Campbell, Nick Brackin, Maggie Phillips, CaraGrace Carroll, and Danielle Cain. They will compete November 30 and December 1 in Montgomery.
Congratulations to Garyson Campbell, Emma Mauldin, Sam South, Heather Medlin, and Graham West for making the Alabama All State Chorus. Emma Mauldin and Garyson Campbell made the Alabama All State Show Choir as well. They only choose 25 boys and 25 girls from the whole state for this event.

2018-2019 Basketball Schedule

The varsity basketball teams will open their season at home on Saturday, December 1st against Austin. Schedule is as follows: 1:30-Freshman Boys; 3:00-JV Girls; 4:30-JV Boys; 6:00-Varsity Girls; 7:30-Varsity Boys

State Swim Meet

MSHS has one swimmer, Abby Newton, who will be competing at the State Swim Meet in Auburn this week. Go Trojans!


Coach Tonya Newton says, "I'm so proud of the hard work the MSHS swimmers have put in this season. It's such an honor to see Muscle Shoals listed with other schools from across the state."

2019 "Student of the Year" Applications Now Available

The "Student of the Year" program is sponsored by the Shoals Scholar Dollars organization. One student will be selected from Muscle Shoals High School and all other private and public schools in the Shoals area. Those students will be honored at a banquet in April, and one of them will be named Shoals area "Student of the Year." It is open to all students in grades 9-12. See Dr. Holden or Mrs. Nichols if you have questions. The applications are due to Dr. Holden by Friday, December 14.

Anchor Club’s Hats for Pets made $253 for the Colbert County Animal Shelter as well as collected food and supplies to benefit homeless animals in our area.

SENIOR ANNOUNCEMENTS!

Seniors, Balfour were here during lunch Tuesday, November 27th to take cap and gown orders. Be sure to check your school email for an important message from Mrs. Veal about ordering graduation supplies! We have extra order packets in the guidance office or you can go to: http://www.balfour.com/


Remember that even if you do not wish to order invitations or any of the other senior items you will need to order #77 on the order form. This is the cap, gown, tassel, diploma and diploma cover.

Students will be told if they exempt exams by Friday, December 14. An absence on Review Day, December 17, counts as an absence but does not count against exam exemption. Students may check-out after their exam reviews on December 17 WITH A NOTE FROM A PARENT/GUARDIAN.

Prom Date: May 11, 2019

The prom fee is discounted to $125 until December 19th. After the Christmas break, the fee goes up to $150. Each junior is responsible for the prom fee in order to attend and it covers BOTH junior and senior year. If you are a senior who paid (or raised money) and attended last year, you owe nothing this year! See Mrs. Ryan, aryan@mscs.k12.al.us, if you have questions.
