History Behind choosing "Titans"- "It was the students' decision in a vote," explained Dr. Ernest Becker, founding Dean of Students, of the nickname "Titans." "More than a hundred names were suggested, and the Student Council took on the job of narrowing the list down to a few for the purposes of an election. The vote was close, with Titans narrowly prevailing over Aardvarks and Rebels.”
Team Mascot: Elephant (Tuffy the Titan)
History Behind choosing an Elephant- The titans got there mascot from the early 1960s when the campus hosted "The First Intercollegiate Elephant Race in Human History”
2.) The Titans captured their first NCAA title in 1979 behind Tim Wallach, who went on to play 17 major league seasons. He played for the Montreal Expos, the Los Angelos Dodgers twice, and the California Angels. He was a 5 time all star, 3 time gold glove winner, and 2 time silver slugger. He also recieved the Golden Spikes Award in 1979, which is the best ameteur baseball player in the United States
3.) In 1995, Mark Kotsay won National Player of the Year as a Titan. This year they also won the National Championship
4. Softball has produced 3 national players of the year. One of the three players is Connie Clark who is currently the head coach at the University of Texas
5. Cal State Fullerton no longer has a football team. They we a team through 1970-1972. Their overall record over those years was 107-150-3 while only going to 2 bowl games over the span of the time. Both games resulted in a loss for the Titans.

I think with the bright orange in the logo that the university tried to catch the eyes of the viewers. Also the elephant logo is detailed but not too much. Also I think the university was trying to get there point across with the "F" of a simple logo but stands out that its the University of Cal State Fullerton.
