Message from the Principal

Westbrook Families,

It has been a short but busy week here at Westbrook. The students have been going through some start of the year testing and the PTA hosted a lovely park meet up for our kindergarten families on Wednesday afternoon!

Next Friday we look forward to our first PTA meeting of the year. Typically PTA meetings will take place on Thursdays(alternating between mornings and evenings) however since we are not in school on Thursday our first meeting will be Friday, September 17. Please see below for more information regarding our amazing WB/GG PTA.

We are also looking forward to our first Spirit Week set for September 20-24. Picture Day is September 20 and will kick off our Westbrook spirit! Please see below for more details!

I would also like to take a moment to thank everyone for their patience as we worked through our arrival and dismissal procedures here at Westbrook. Over the last week we have seen much less congestion and the majority of students have entered the building by 8:45. We have also seen that dismissal is lasting about a total of ten minutes which is consistent with previous years! THANK YOU for your continued patience and cooperation.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Patrick Hoeft

Spirit Week - September 20-24

We are excited to announce our first Spirit Week here at Westbrook! Please see the image below which outlines the entire week!

Also, please know that as we planned this spirit week we tried to make this as equitable and inclusive as possible! The goal of our spirit week is to increase a sense of belonging and community and often times spirit weeks can be exclusive if a student does not have an item needed to participate. We look forward to including ALL as we plan for a week of FUN & SPIRIT!

Construction Update

The construction is moving right along here at Westbrook. All of the foundation has been poured for the entire building most recently adding the foundation for the new kitchen and serving area off our brand new multi-purpose room. This week the steel framing started and it is almost 50 percent complete! Students have enjoyed watching the cranes hoist the steel beams at recess and our construction superintendent has been fielding questions and responding to the students all week! Please enjoy some of the photos below from the work completed this week alone!
