Greetings Benfield Families!
What an interesting start back to school after the winter break. Two snow storms in one week! Even though there is still quite a bit of snow around, we will try to get the students outside this week as long as the temperature is above 32 degrees by recess time. Please be sure your child comes to school with warm clothing, including jackets, hats, and mittens.
Nature Center Refurbishment
The PTO is planning to refurbish supplies in the Nature Center and is looking for gently used kitchen items to use in the outdoor/educational play space. Some of the most favorite items are the kitchen items such as pots, pans, baking sheets, etc. These items are used all the time and have worn over the years. If you have items to donate, there will be a box placed in the foyer for you to drop them off during school hours.
Girls on the Run
Recently, our 3rd-5th grader girls received a flyer inviting them to sign up for Girls on the Run. This is a wonderful program that encourages girls to be healthy through physical activity and engages them in activities to build their self-esteem.
If you are interested in having your 3rd-5th grader participate, click here to access the flyer outlining the details of the program at Benfield. The coaches wanted to make sure that parents saw the information as there will be a lottery tomorrow, January 14th to select the participants.
Upcoming winter Concert
We have rescheduled the winter concert, and it is now planned for February 10th at 6:30 p.m. The music team will reach out about any specific details about the concert as we get closer.
