Welcome to Fourth Grade
Language Arts
genre: realistic fiction
skill: character, setting, plot, understanding the beginning, middle, and end of a story
grammar: simple, compound, and complex sentences, subject and predicate
There will be a comprehension, vocabulary, and grammar major test grade this week.
Math
Our next unit is multiplication. Please use www.mobymax.com to practice fact fluency.
We will be solving 1 digit by up at a 4 digit multiplication problems.
The test will be Thursday, October 4.
Science/Social Studies
Social Studies
From Thursday,(9/27) we are going to embark on our journey to know more about Texas, its important customs, symbols, and celebrations that represent its history.
Our 1st Unit is going to consist of
using geographic tools to construct and interpret maps
identifying, locating, describing, and comparing the geographic regions of Texas
reciting and explaining the meaning of the pledge to the Texas flag
explaining the meaning of various patriotic symbols of Texas
differentiating between locating, and using valid primary and secondary sources
analyzing, organizing and interpreting information
creating written and visual material such as journals and graphic organizer
Students will be assessed in the third week of October on their Region Project which will be their major evaluation grade.

- October 12: Color Run 5:30-6:30
