OBJECTIVE
To develop students awareness of scientific enquiry through Forensic Science and the applications, techniques and authentic processes used within a Crime Scene Investigation (CSI). A hands-on workshop which also introduces elements of the Criminal Justice System

LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Give students a good overall knowledge of Forensic Science and the Criminal Justice System
- Engage the students in Scientific enquiry using Forensic Science
- Give students the opportunity to explore a variety of different disciplines of Forensic Science
- Allow students to participate in practical ‘hands-on’ science activities using authentic forensic equipment
- Broaden students awareness of Science and STEM subjects, encouraging them to be active and curious
- Teach students that Science is all around them - gain a greater understanding of scientific enquiry and its wider aspects
- Allow students to gain confidence in their own thoughts, in addition to communicating their ideas to different groups, whilst problem solving
- Students will learn how these Forensic Science techniques relate and integrate into everyday life and the importance that this specialist skill-set plays within today’s Criminal Justice System, encouraging & supporting Crime Prevention
