Let's finish strong!
The 2022-2023 school year is almost over! It's been a busy year with a lot of hard work and a lot of fun! Thinking back on the year, the things that stand out to me include but are not limited to:
- BooHoo or Yahoo Breakfast for Kindergarten parents
- 4th Grade Field Trip to Raleigh! (as well as other grade level field trips)
- PTO Fall Festival
- Hispanic Heritage Cultural Celebration hosted by our Dual Language classes
- Career Day
- Welcoming Dr. Jackson, BCS Superintendent
- Book Character Dress Up Day!
- NBHS Baseball team readers
- Camp Read-a-Lot Read-a-Thon!
- Grade level musical programs
- Young Author's Day
- PTO Dance-a-Thon (the glow lights were spectacular!)
I'm sure that soon I will be adding Field Day and the Fourth Grade Picnic to this list as well. I am so thankful for the fun events that we get to do at NBES but to be honest, these items do not compare to the hug a student gives me on the way to the buses or celebrating with a student when they meet a goal they have set for themselves. Thank you for a great year at NBES!
I wish our fourth grade students (and families) the best as they move on to North Windy Ridge. We know that you will do great things and we can't wait to hear reports of all the awesome things you do! We all will be cheering for you because you will always be part of the NBES family!
Thank you for your continued support of NBES! Our students are growing, learning and succeeding at North Buncombe Elementary!
Summer Reading Academy - NBES will host the NB District students
Students who are not performing at grade level will be invited to participate in Summer Reading Academy. This is a fabulous program for eligible students. Check out the information below. More information will come home in the next month or so if your child is eligible to attend.

Brittany George has offered to serve again on the School Improvement Team as well. If you are interested in serving on this team for the 2023-2024 school year, please let Mrs. Allison know via email - firstname.lastname@example.org by June 9th.
