Long Range Planning Committee

A sincere THANK YOU to the 65 committee members who served on this Long Range Planning Committee over the last four months; it was made up of trustees, district administration, staff, parents, and community members. The time, work, and commitment this team gave to identify the district's critical needs and develop a recommendation to the School Board is to be applauded. It will create a strong foundation for Liberty Hill ISD to build on and guide the future for our students, staff, families, and community. Our Panther family is grateful for your servant leadership!

Media Spotlight

Tonight, Saturday, Jan. 16th Fox Sports Southwest will air the story on Coach Jeff Walkers' legacy in the 4th segment of High School Scoreboard Live. Be sure to tune in Saturday night around 30 minutes into the show. They go live immediately following the 6A DI Title Game. #AllofUs #WalkerTough

Community Partners

This year the Education Service Center Region 13, Homeless Education Program provided gift cards for the annual Adopt-a-Family program. Thanks to the generosity of Region 13 employees and family members, Walsh Gallegos Trevino Russo & Kyle, P.C., employees, and Strive Dental employees we are able to provide gift cards for four families. They provided gift cards for McKinney-Vento families in the LHISD, $100 in gift cards for two small families, and $150 in gift cards for two larger families. THANK YOU for truly helping to make the holidays brighter for these families!! #communitymatters

SNOW DAY!

2021 has already started with a bang - snow! Liberty Hill hasn't seen snow in over ten years. We hope you enjoyed it, whether it was being knee-deep in it making a snowman or snow angel, drinking hot cocoa by the fire, reading a book, or just relaxing with loved ones watching the majestic wintery scenery. Thanks for sharing all the fun pics and special memories you made -we love our Panther families!

LHHS DECA is State bound!

In December, eleven DECA students elevated their learning by participating in the District 5 DECA competitive events. Each of those students dedicated many hours to study for business specialty exams, practice role-playing scenarios, record presentation videos, and research/write business plans. Their dedication and commitment to this learning process are commended. DECA Advisor’s Ms. Webb and Mrs. Tedder recognize and praise each student that accepted this challenge.

This week, the results from the DECA District 5 competition were announced. The following students were awarded District Medallions in their categories and have advanced to State (Texas DECA) competition scheduled for March 2021. Because of covid-related restrictions, this competition will also be virtual this school year.

Congratulations to the following students and their advisors Ms. Webb and Mrs. Tedder as they prepare for the “next level” – State Competition! GO DECA!!!

LHISD Education Foundation

The Crosby Education Foundation set up a GoFundMe and raised money at their pep rally in honor of Coach Walker. At the Semi-Final pregame, they presented Miranda Walker and our Education Foundation a check for $4,100. What a great show of sportsmanship and a true act of kindness. Also, after the gut-wrenching game, the Coog players were a class act showing compassion and true football brotherhood to our heartbroken players. Their community continues to reach out to check on Eric De La Cruz sending prayers and well wishes while also sending their condolences and heartfelt sentiments to Miranda Walker. Let's all cheer on the Crosby Coogs at the State game, they represent more than a tough football opponent or high school, they are genuine people who chose to take care of people. Something this world needs a lot more of right now...GO COOGS!

Elementary Buddy Benches - Promoting Kindness!

These beautiful Buddy Benches will be an addition to three of the elementary school playgrounds in 2021. They were built and painted by Abby Parsons, Sophia Ortiz, Kamryn Matula students at Liberty Hill High School who earned their Girl Scout Silver Award with their project. This group of amazing servant leaders hopes these benches will help eliminate loneliness and foster friendships. Rachel Ware and Requay made pickle garden kits for the Hope House in LH. This is another way for our students to promote kindness. What a special gift to our Panther family-THANK YOU!!!

Football

What an incredible and inspirational season with an exciting Semi-Final rollercoaster game against Crosby that came to an emotional heartbreaking loss 61-62. It still stings and probably always will, but we all need to Be Tough and reflect on the amazing journey with the lessons learned and memories made along the way.

Thank you, Coach Kent Walker, players, coaches, and the Walker family for sharing this emotional and exciting playoff run with the LH community. Panther Nation and Texas high school football will cherish it for years to come! We are so proud of what you’ve accomplished- your drive, grit, and heart through adversity are what champions are made of and the legacy JW instilled in #AllOfUs. You are #WalkerTough. LHISD is building Champions!
