Twin Peaks Middle School

Weekly RAM Newsletter

A Brief Note from Dr. Burke

Dear Ram families,

I hope you enjoyed yet another warm weekend. It will be a pretty quiet week on campus. This Tuesday, we encourage you to pick up dinner at Chipotle to support our PE department. Click here for the flyer. On Wednesday we have our picture make-up day. Pictures will be taken in the MPR during RAM or PE.

Students, it's time to show off your talents in the PTSA Reflections contest. This year’s theme “Look Within” opens the door to share your abilities in many categories such as dance choreography, film production, literature, music composition, photography and visual arts. Don’t wait--the deadline is Monday, October 7th. Forms are available in the front office.

Work by SDG&E continues on the utility underground infrastructure installation on Espola Rd between Poway High School and Twin Peaks Rd. They start work around 8:30am so please allow extra time on Thursdays for late start. Extended work hours are ongoing in the afternoon during which traffic flow is maintained with one travel lane in both directions. This work is scheduled to continue into October.

I want to remind you that next week Tuesday and Wednesday (September 24th & 25th) are minimum days with a 12:40 dismissal. Our teachers will spend the afternoon collaborating on site goals for the school year. Also, please be mindful that Tierra Bonita dismisses at 12:25 on Tuesday, so traffic will be congested. Please help us to be good neighbors by not parking in their lot. Our after school program is open until 6:00 for enrolled students.

I will close with a Save the Date. The Foundation's Fall Fiesta will take place on the evening of Saturday, October 19, 2019, at Second Chance Beer Co. & Taproom. More details are coming soon.

That’s it for now. I look forward to seeing you all tomorrow and remember it's a 5/1/3 day.

Reminder to Parents

Here are a few friendly reminders from the Attendance Office for the 2019-20 school year. Please make sure your student(s) arrive on time every day. Please make sure to call the Attendance Hotline at (858) 668-2730 for the following:

  • Checking in a student late
  • Checking out a student early
  • Informing us when your student is not attending school and the reason why
  • If someone other than the parent/guardian is picking up your student.

Using the guidelines above helps us guarantee and expedite each situation with minimal distractions for your student, the school, and the classrooms.
