Roberts Middle School
Grit: Volume 35
Dear Roberts,
As Teacher Appreciation Week comes to an end, please know your greatness still shines. I believe that teachers are torchbearers because of their chosen decision to lead. To lead is a heavy calling because of the demand it takes to be a great classroom facilitator. As a fellow bearer myself, we choose to go on this journey to be agents of change.
Try to imagine where you use a torch? It is usually in dark, scary, or gloomy places, yet the torch brings forth light. Teachers are able to cast the necessary fire as torchbearers. By illuminating your classroom, you are able to communicate a short trip in a compelling way to encourage students to take the necessary steps to move forward. This fire illuminates not just in your classroom, but ignites the lives of your students. This week our 5th and 6th grade students will be taking their STAAR test. I know that they are ready because of you. I have seen your determination and hustle. It is indescribable and uncontainable the momentum you have created by utilizing small group instruction as a vehicle to learn in your classroom! As the torchbearer, you have brought them this far. Now it is time for them to shine. I hope you know that we care for you deeply. Thank you for always competing and bringing forth the best in our students. Thank you for doing things better than they have ever been done before.
This Friday, I want to personally invite you to my house for the STAAR Party. This is my way of saying how grateful I am for all that you have done. Jessica Ray’s husband is cooking wings and fried corn. Please bring your own chosen drink of choice. This is truly a remarkable family!
This week you can wear Houston Rockets shirts on the day they play with jeans or wear RMS shirts with jeans EVERY DAY.
