The style through which he has communicated, and championed his messages in community development is something that makes his work worthy to be emulated by all who believe in the positive transformation of humanity. Chris is also the Founder and CEO of Positive Thought Solutions, LLC. He has a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Detroit Mercy, a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Lawrence Tech University, and a Master’s Degree in Automotive Systems Engineering from the University of Michigan.

WC is offering an opportunity to attend this Sinclair Community College Theatre production.The Meeting is a 1987 American play by Jeff Stetson about an imaginary meeting between Martin Luther King Jr.and Malcolm X in 1965 in a hotel in Harlem during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. The play won a Louis B. Mayer Award and eight 1987 NAACP Theatre Awards and was later televised on American Playhouse in 1989. It has also been performed throughout Europe and the United States.

Washington DC Diversity Trip Student Reflections

Every year the Office of D&I offers A civil rights tour of Washington DC. On this trip, Students visit three notable cultural museums. The Museum of African American History and Culture, The American Indian Museum, and the US Holocaust Museum. Through interacting with the content within these museums, students will have gained a better sense of history and culture. This lunchtime session is an opportunity to hear their personal reflections.

Walker, who was the first U.S. woman to become a self-made millionaire; George Washington Carver, who derived nearly 300 products from the peanut; Rosa Parks, who sparked the Montgomery Bus Boycott and galvanized the civil rights movement; and Shirley Chisholm, who was the first African American woman elected to the U.S. House of Representatives. FBI informant William O'Neal infiltrates the Illinois Black Panther Party and is tasked with keeping tabs on their charismatic leader, Chairman Fred Hampton. A career thief, O'Neal revels in the danger of manipulating both his comrades and his handler, Special Agent Roy Mitchell. Hampton's political prowess grows just as he's falling in love with fellow revolutionary Deborah Johnson. Meanwhile, a battle wages for O'Neal's soul. Will he align with the forces of good? Or subdue Hampton and The Panthers by any means, as FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover commands?

In 1964, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. of the Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) accepts his Nobel Peace Prize. Four black girls walking down stairs in the Birmingham, Alabama 16th Street Baptist Church are killed by a bomb set by the Ku Klux Klan. Annie Lee Cooper attempts to register to vote in Selma, Alabama, but is prevented by the white registrar. King meets with Lyndon B. Johnson and asks for federal legislation to allow black citizens to register to vote unencumbered, but the president responds that, although he understands Dr. King's concerns, he has more important projects. Dr. King decided to take matters into his own hands.

Dr Don Shirley is a world-class African-American pianist, who is about to embark on a concert tour in the Deep South in 1962. In need of a driver and protection, Shirley recruits Tony Lip, a tough-talking bouncer from an Italian-American neighborhood in the Bronx. Despite their differences, the two men soon develop an unexpected bond while confronting racism and danger in an era of segregation.
