The students of Hong Kong have spoken!
Hong Kong Golden Dragon Book Award Winners have been announced.
Founded and organised by school Librarians, the GDBA aims to be a fun and exciting way for internationally-minded young Hong Kong people, between the ages of 4 - 18, to become enthusiastic and discriminating readers.
The Awards are divided 4 different age categories, and 1 picture book category (for all ages). Peak School students have been reading from the 18 titles in their appropriate age group since September and, like many schools across Hong Kong, we collected votes just before the Easter break - and now the results are in!
Below are the 2017 award winners... drum roll please....

Encouraging your little darlings to read
... and here are some useful links.
From our Facebook page archive, some good articles about reading with your children.
And from the Guardian, an interesting article where some teachers share their top tips on how to encourage children to read.
We also have some books on the subject in the Parent Resource section in the Library (everyone welcome to come in and borrow!).
