Instructional Resources for Writing Workshop

One of our goals this year at both buildings is the implementation of the Units of Study writing program. This week I've gathered just a few blog posts that you may want to check out related to writing workshop. As you prepare to launch your units, you will want to find a special spot in your room to display the anchor charts for your lessons. I'm here to learn with you as we begin working with our new writing program!

I'm also sharing a few of my new favorite picture books! Let me know if you would like to check them out!

Happy Writing,

Shelly

Take a minute to read this great interview with Lucy Calkins and Mary Ehrenworth: "Remodeling the Workshop: Lucy Calkins on Writing Instruction Today". I'm excited to see Mary Ehrenworth next Monday at a conference in Orono. I hope to bring back lots of ideas for our work with Units of Study!

I love this picture I saw on Twitter from Stacey Riedmiller's classroom! There are so many anchor charts in our Units of Study. I love the way she uses a portion of her wall space just for writing workshop!
