Watch D.O.G.S. are back!

The "Dads of Great Students" will be back on campus in full force this year. We had approximately 75 dads, grandfathers and community members at our kickoff last night willing to give at least one day to serve our students this year. We are so excited for them to work with our learners.

Principal's Pulse

First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you to PTA for sponsoring our Watch D.O.G.S. program and for making our kickoff event a success. We are so excited about the opportunties our learners will have with all of the positive male role models that will be serving on campus this year.

Secondly, I would like to apologize to those of you who got concerned when you received the School Messenger messages yesterday. The voicemail probably conveys what I am trying to say best as you can hear my voice. The text messages are limited by the number of characters you can use and will be very brief. If you do not receive School Messenger via a phone message, you can go to our website at and then click on the parent tab and School Messenger. You can follow the directions there to add to the ways you receive messages. When you receive the voicemails, please listen to the message before calling the campus because the School Messenger message will be informational and not about your specific child. I do appreciate everyone driving carefully around the school to protect our children and to keep them safe. The School Messenger messages will come from the district line 903-482-8800. Thank you for your patience.

Finally, I want to thank all of you for helping your children to get acclimated into the new school year. Thank you for ensuring an early bedtime, providing a healthy breakfast, packing a nutritious lunch, reading with your child at night and discussing new learning at the dinner table. These are the small, simple things that will make a huge, meaningful impact on the success of our students this year.

Grandparents' Day Hosted by our 4th Grade Students

It is a tradition for our 4th graders to host their grandparents to honor them the Friday before Grandparents' Day by eating lunch together, showing off their square dance moves and visiting the classroom to highlight their work. The highlight of this event is hearing stories from the grandparents about what their lives were like when they were in elementary school. We appreciate all the grandparents who were able to attend today.

Student Safety Before School

We open the front doors at 7:30 to allow students to enter to eat breakfast, attend tutoring and/or to be supervised by staff in the cafeteria and gym. Please do not drop off your children before 7:30 as there is not supervision for them until that time. Thank you for your help.
Volunteer Background Check Form

We sent these forms home in the Thursday folders this week. Please complete this form if you would like to volunteer to help at school or attend field trips. If you have children on multiple campuses, you only have to complete one form.

Football Game Safety at Panther Stadium

Thank you for keeping our students and all patrons safe at the ballgames by keeping your children in the stands with you. We appreciate your help.

PTA Information

The PTA Membership Drive is underway. Parents can sign-up directly at :

We have a tie for the class with the most PTA members. Mrs. Gentzler's and Mrs. Crow's classes are tied. The grade level in the lead is still 2nd grade, but kindergarten is only behind by 5 memberships. The last place grade level only trails by 21 memberships, so everyone is still in the running.

There are a few other things that our PTA provides for our campus. They have purchased some special Spirit Sticks that each child will receive throughout the year that just arrived today. They will host the Kid Fit club after school starting in October. They will sponsor the Reflections Art Contest in October as well. We appreciate all that our PTA and our volunteers do to support our students.
