PSE: December Principal Points
Loving Each Other, Learning Together, & Leading the Way
December 2022
A Note from Mrs. Acklin...
Greetings Team PSE Families,
Happy Holidays! Wow! It's hard to believe we are approaching the end of the first semester. It's been a busy few months, but a great one full of students learning, showing love, and taking on leadership roles. As the semester winds down I want to thank you all for partnering with us at Painted Stone. We appreciate the love and support from our families, from the PTO, to parent volunteers, helping with homework, making sure your little one is here everyday, to keeping them home if they are ill... WE appreciate it all. We could not do anything without YOU!
I'd like to give a quick shout out to one of our BIGGEST supporters, the PTO!!!! We are so incredibly blessed to have an organization that focuses on the wants and needs of the school. Our PTO members are truly servants (with hearts of GOLD) of our school family. I am always grateful for the partnership we have with them, but the weekend of the Christmas parade, it hit me even more. All I had to do was understand the assignment they gave to me: show up dressed as an elf. DONE!! Months ago, I was told "Don't worry about the parade or float, trust us to get a plan and execute it. We'll survey the staff about a theme and go from there. You have enough to deal with running the school." Spirit fingers to the planning team!!!!
From me to you, I am wishing you a holiday season filled with peace, love, and happiness. Enjoy your winter break. As always, thank you for helping and supporting us as we continue to… love each other, learn together, and lead the way.
Your Partner in Education,
Mrs. Acklin
December's Advisory Theme is Self Management

Dress Code
Students are to wear solid-colored shirts with a collar and solid-colored bottoms. Tights and leggings need to be solid-colored as well. Please look over the Dress Code document we sent home in your packet from Back to School Bash night.
Free Flu Shots
Please see the attached flyer. If you or anyone you know is interested in getting their flu shot, please let them know about this free flu shot clinic being offered by our local health department. They are offering this on Thursday December 15th from 8am-4pm. No appointment is necessary.
Over 16,000 flu cases have been reported in Kentucky along with 3 pediatric deaths and 27 adult deaths so far this fall. The increase rate of flu cases is not just an issue in Kentucky, so if you are planning on traveling over the holidays—you may want to consider getting vaccinated beforehand. If you have any question regarding your health situation and getting the flu vaccine—please reach out to your primary care physician. Please remember that a flu vaccine doesn't necessarily prevent you from getting the flu but does help prevent severe illness and death.
Other measures that you can do to prevent spread of the flu and other viruses are to:
- Wash your hands frequently (especially before eating)
- Cover your cough (even if you think it is allergy related)
- Stay home if you feel like you are sick —especially if you have a fever, chills, severe cough, body aches
- If you have an underlying health condition —consider wearing a mask when you are in a large crowd or crowded spaces
- Make sure you are maintaining a healthy diet (including fruits and vegetables)
Stay healthy and Merry Christmas!
