Rotorua Intermediate 7 December
2022
Focusing Forward
I was asked by a parent while watching our students playing touch that after the disruptions experienced in 2022 what was I hoping for during 2023? I replied that we were aiming for 2023 to be our year of COMPLETION and CONTINUITY.
For COMPLETION we are looking forward to seeing our canopy over the basketball courts completed, with its cover, speaker system and night lights. Along with this would be the COMPLETION of the astro-turf surface underneath, providing for both basketball and netball. Our all-weather cricket wicket would also be COMPLETED.
Also COMPLETED would be the purchasing of more sets of appropriate novels for our students, and the COMPLETION of our sets of robotics and science kits. These resources extend practical opportunities for our students to be excited about, as they have proven curiosity in these areas.
Regarding CONTINUITY, we are hoping for minimal distractions outside of our control, that end up impacting on effective teaching and learning. Distractions such as Covid lockdowns or some parents either holding the children back from school or allowing them to choose when they feel like attending school.
Our students need CONTINUITY during this critical growth time in their life. They are experiencing brain growth, physical growth and emotional growth, so the CONTINUITY of school is crucial.
To support CONTINUITY at Rotorua Intermediate we can assure you we are fully staffed and organised to do our part.
YOUR CHILD, OUR STUDENT, THEIR FUTURE.
Before 2023 commences I am insisting that all staff, parents and caregivers have an awesome Xmas and New Year. I am insisting that you find some time for you. Time to recharge yourself in preparation to support 2023. The year of COMPLETION and CONTINUITY.
