A Little Bit About Me!
Where Am I From?
I was originally born in Orlando, FL on October 4th, 1996. However, my mother was born in Guyana, and my father was born on a small island in the West Indies called St. Vincent and the Grenadines. That makes me half Guyanese and half Vincentian!
Education
Nothing is more important to me than my education. I attended Freedom High School in Orlando. By the end of my senior year, I finished 10 out of 753 students in my senior class. While at UCF, I plan to major in Physics with a specialty in Astronomy and Planetary Sciences. After I graduate I hope to pursue research in space, or aiding in the development and testing of new technology to make space travel possible.
Hobbies
Whenever I am not swamped with school work or studying for tests, you can find me either playing drums or playing video games. I have been a drummer since the 5th grade. In high school, I was introduced to the Tenor Drums and also participated in the marching band at my high school. I am currently a Marching Knight at UCF where I play the Tenor Drums. My other favorite hobby is playing video games. My current favorite video game is Destiny, which I play on the Play Station 4.
Why EXCEL?
Ever since hearing about the EXCEL program, I was drawn to its various benefits. From a paid undergraduate research experience, to seminars that would help me become a better student, I knew I couldn't go wrong with being a part of the EXCEL program. Using the information given to me during my seminar, I plan on increasing my efficiency at managing my time, studying, and getting better grades in all of my classes.
