Parent Code of Conduct

Sponsor a Police Officer

The Diocese of Orlando allows school administrators to hire off-duty police officers for special events where there may be high volumes of people or when we are present on property at night, etc. I take the safety and security of all those on our campus very seriously and have made the decision to hire an officer to be present for our Halloween Dance and our Fall Festival. The cost of the police officer is $31 per hour. If you would like to sponsor the police officer for the entire event or even just for an hour during the event, please call Mrs. Dyer in the front office.

Halloween Dance: 4 hours @ $31 per hour is $124 total

Fall Festival: 5 hours @$31 per hour is $155 total

I will continue to secure off-duty police officers for activities or events that I deem necessary.

Living Rosary

Our school community came together as a family to pray the rosary. Our special intention was for the health of our beloved principal, Mrs. Bruchey. We began our prayerful time together with a video from Mrs. Bruchey. Special thanks to our sixth, seventh, and eighth graders who led us through the rosary.

Morning Prayer

We are exploring the opportunity to have morning prayer in our beautiful courtyard. We will be conducting prayer in the courtyard tomorrow, Friday, October 18th. When students arrive to school in the morning this Friday, they will be directed to go directly to class. In homeroom, they will get settled and begin their day. Morning prayer will begin at 7:55am in the courtyard. Students will still be tardy if they do not arrive by 7:50am. After Friday's morning prayer, we will determine a plan of action for future morning prayer.

Photo Release

One of the documents that we need to have signed and on file is a photo release. This signed release allows us to use your child's picture in any of our materials. This includes, but is not limited to, Facebook posts, marketing materials, school yearbook, etc. Please understand that we will never use your child's full (first and last) name in any of our marketing materials or on facebook. The only place where you will find your child's last name is in the yearbook. If we do not have a signed photo release on file, you will find one in your white envelope today. Please sign and return it at your earliest convenience.

RenWeb

The issue on Renweb for parents to check student grades has been corrected. All parents should have access to the parent portal. If you have any questions or need assistance, please email Mrs. Haas at thaas@sjalakeland.org
