Adaption of Plants in Biomes

The Desert

Simple Plants

Some plants have no leaves so that when photosynthesis occurs the plant doesn't lose as much water.

Many plants have long roots due to the fact that it rains so little. The long roots help the plant get the water deep in the ground.

Lose Less Water

Most plants in the desert grow really slow because they don't want to use up all their energy. A plant that has a waxy surface loses a lot less water than a plant that has a regular surface.
