READY 2 ROLL DAY 2023

Ready 2 Roll Day 2023 is Friday, March 10th!

Beckendorff Leadworthy students are fundraising for a local non-profit: "Sunshine Thru the Rain".

sunshinethrutherain.org is dedicated to helping children that have lost one or both of their parents, by providing a safe environment for them to share their experiences and make new memories.

The fundraising campaign, Ready 2 Roll Day, is a 17-year tradition at Beckendorff Junior High, led by Leadworthy teacher, Paige Siemers, and her 7th and 8th grade students.

We believe the most effective and best leadership is seeing and meeting the needs of those around us. In the 17 years of Ready 2 Roll Day, Beckendorff has fundraised over a half million dollars to help causes like, childhood cancer, pet rescues, building schools in Africa, research for curing rare diseases, resources for the disabled community, school supplies for KISD students, assistance for families who were impacted by Hurricane Harvey, as well as resources for our Katy homeless community. We are grateful to be able to help the families of Sunshine Thru the Rain this year.

BDJH students/families are encouraged to bring donations to their participating teachers starting now thru Friday, March 10th. They can bring in change, cash, checks (made out to KATYISD) or donate online (https://www.sunshinethrutherain.org/).

If you give online, please make sure to designate which teacher/class period you want the donation to go to.

Their teachers have created fun incentives for giving, like:

- choose your own seat for a week;

- listen to music while working;

- teach the class for a day;

- tape your teacher to a wall;

- throw a pie in the face of a teacher;

- bring cupcakes/cookies...

Join us for a "giving competition" for a great cause!
