P.O.P. Power of Positive
Denton's POP!
- Thank you to our Deanna Russell and Brock Christian for the hard work with students. Thursday nights Spring Concert was lovely!
- Big thanks and shout-out to Ana Williams for working with me to understand all the components and needs for graduation. (I'd be lost with you, Ana!) If you weren't able to attend the planning meeting but would still like to be involved, just let me know.
- Spring-itis has hit! This is a long stretch for both staff and students to Spring Break. Take time in your day for some calm and mindful moments to recharge.
- Next week PTSA is bringing in a Science Magician for 6th grade and SDC. Thursday 14th @ 2:20. They are working on an assembly for 7th and 8th as well. More details soon!
- Sharing the positive-Let's share with families and students good news about their progress - use this form and we'll send a postcard home google form.

The Standard with Mike Strahan
It is a good time of year to revisit your classroom expectations and guidelines. Remember to greet students at the door. You set the tone for your classroom and day.
- Refer to your Warrior Handbook for this week's lessons for advisory periods.
- This week focuses on the The CAFETERIA. We have moved the tables in the cafeteria and it seems to be working well. Students can talk and move to their tables more easily.
- Warrior Way tickets will focus on the Chromebook behaviors. Please have students check their devices before using each period so we can identify which student/period is causing damage to keyboards.
Vision & Goal Progress
Watch us this year as we...
- Increase academic achievement in ELA & Math on CAASPP
- Close the gap from honor roll to tested achievement (total honor roll)
- Create celebration moments for students and families
- Provide rigorous curriculum and learning experiences for students (including OLF, History Day, Science Fair, BOB, fine arts, sports, clubs, etc.)
- Reduce suspensions: Fewer than last year (120)
- Increase attendance percentage (95.0%)
- Decrease truant tardy/sarb referrals (#)
