Kids are Having a blast Skiing at Alyeska
Cooper Landing, Moose Pass, and Hope Schools would like to thank the Alyeska Resort Mountain Learning Center for all the great work that you do with our students. The students are improving in leaps and bounds and loving their new skills!
Ski lessons at Alyeska are in full swing for all three schools. Some important things for parents to keep in mind during ski season:
If you want to be a chaperone on ski trips, you need to have a volunteer application and background check on file. If you haven't already done so, now is the time to get online at www.kpbsd.org and fill out an application. The application process only takes about 5 minutes, but it takes some time for background checks to clear, so the sooner you get this done the more likely you will be cleared in time to chaperone.
Parents should be advised that there are no microwaves or hot water available and plan lunches accordingly. Students should have appropriate gear for being outside all day in weather which could include snow pants, gloves, hats, coats, a change of clothes for if they get wet, and goggles or sunglasses. Gear should be packed in such a way that students can carry it in and out of the lodge, and students should understand that they are responsible for all of their personal belongings.
Dates for the remaining ski days are: March 20 & 27, and April 3 with a possible make up day on April 10 if necessary.
As always, contact the school if you have any questions or concerns.
