How to Get Your Child to Talk About School
Pirate Musical
Last night's production would not have been possible without our parent volunteers. We extend a special thank you to these parents:
- Mr. Balmos for volunteering his woodworking skills. He met with Mr. Miranda to get a vision of what was needed for the ship and then built it off-site and brought it to school. It was perfect!
- Mrs. Burges, Mrs. Rodgers, Mrs. Rodney, and Mrs. Haddon for their expertise with face painting. Our pirates looked great!
- Allison and Wayne Rodney for their artistic design with our stage. This play was in two acts (one on a ship and one on a deserted island). All of it looked great!
We look forward to Blanton's next musical production!

Share Table
If you are new to Blanton you may not know we have a share table in the cafeteria! Mrs. Dorrell is in charge of our share table. Each day students can "Share" uneaten food from their lunch. Food must be unopened and not need to be refrigerated. At the end of the week she donates the food to Fred Moore Day School Nursery. It also helps stock a small food pantry at the Nursery for families in need. We are reducing a lot of waste in the cafeteria by having a share table. Talk to your student if there are things you don’t want them to share so they know to save them for home!
If you have questions or concerns about this program, please contact Mrs. Dorrell.
Destination Imagination Information Night
Denton ISD will be hosting a Destination Imagination (DI) information night on Wednesday, Sept 25th. Come learn what Destination Imagination is all about. If your child loves solving challenges, enjoys performing, and wants to gain skills to be a team player, creative thinker and confident presenter then DI might be the program for him or her. These teams compete at regional, state and global levels and is partly funded by Denton ISD.

Where: Redbud Room, PDC, Denton ISD, 1212 Bolivar, Denton 76201.
What: The information meeting is for parents to come learn about Destination Imagination and see what is involved in having your child(ren) be in a team. We will also talk about what is involved in being a team manager.
