Dear Carmichael Elementary families & community,

Welcome to the 2022-23 school year at Carmichael Elementary! I am so excited for another great school year here at Carmichael.

I look forward to working together to provide an excellent school year for our students. Our goal is to work collaboratively as a community so that students can learn, be successful, and prepared for an ever changing world. We welcome and encourage all families to participate in their children’s education as much as possible. Families can stay connected by checking the Carmichael website, following Carmichael on Facebook, reading our Cougar Chronicles newsletters and listening to the phone messages. All families should check their Parent Portal to see teacher rosters and to verify contact information. Please make sure that we have your current email address and phone numbers on file so that you can receive these notifications. We encourage families to join our School Site Council (SSC) or attend the meetings. Families are also encouraged to attend our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC) meetings. Finally, I have an open-door policy, which means if I am not in a meeting or have students in my office, I would love to meet with you.

Student attendance is critical to student success. We have a later school bell schedule this year so please note the changes in time from last year. We start school at 9:00 am, which means that our campus is not open for drop off until 8:15 am. At 8:15 am we will have supervision for your child. Please have them line up at the flag pole and they will be led by staff to the Multipurpose Room for breakfast. Also, we can keep everyone safe by following the drop off and pick up procedures that are outlined in our Carmichael handbook on our website.

The incredible Carmichael Elementary teachers and support staff are committed to addressing the needs and skills of all of our students. We pride ourselves in building relationships with students and their families. If you ever have questions or concerns, please contact the staff. I am looking forward to working together in making this a wonderful year for our students and families. If you happen to see me on campus, please stop by to say hello!
