Destination Imagination

I hope everyone is having a great school year so far! Destination Imagination is an educational program that incorporates Theatre, Technology, Science, Engineering, and Language Arts. There is also one challenege that focuses on Service Learning. Our vision is to teach students the creative process and empower them with the skills needed to succeed in an ever-changing world. Out mission is to develop opportunities that inspire the global community of learners to utilize diverse approaches in applying 21st century skills and creativity.
I know that John Wayland is interested in having Destination Imagination teams this year and I have sent information to Charlotte Holter, their school coordinator. If your school is interested please let me know. I am the Rockingham County coordinator for this program and I can help you get your teams started. I have attached this years challenges that the teams will be choosing from to compete in this wonderful program. Each team of seven students choose a main challenge from the list and they are also given an instant challenge on the competition day.
For more information, the Destination Imagination website is www.destinationimagination.org
Please let me know if your school is interested in participating and give me a contact person in order to send further information so we can get your teams started working on their chosen challenge. If you have further questions, I would be glad to answer them. I have been a team manager, school coordinator, and northwest DI board member for quite a while.
