I heard....is it true?

Gananda Central School District recognizes the importance of communication with parents, community members, students and staff. While every effort is made to ensure that accurate information is shared, it is not uncommon for rumors or myths to be circulating throughout the community. As such, we have started a page on our website entitled, "Fact Checker Page." This page is dedicated to providing accurate information about GCSD. If you see or hear information about GCSD that you believe is inaccurate you can have it fact checked! Please send your contact information, the facts you would like checked, and where you found the information to Shannon Bergstresser, Public Relations Specialist, at: Sbergstresser@gananda.org. The first fact check: The turf field cannot be used for JV or Varsity Football Games. Is it true? Check out the answer on the Fact Checker Page!

Did you know?

3 Types of ADHD:

Inattentive type ADHD — without the hyperactivity. People with ADHD of the inattentive type have trouble paying attention to details, are easily distracted, often have trouble organizing or finishing tasks and often forget routine chores

ADHD with hyperactivity. A neuropsychiatric disorder that makes it difficult to pay attention, control impulsivity (taking action before fully thinking things through) or manage excitable behavior (the person is squirming/fidgeting or “hyperactive”).

Combined. inattentive and hyperactive-impulsive symptoms are present

A diagnosis of ADHD can still apply even if a child doesn’t have hyperactive or impulsive behaviors

If you feel your child has ADHD they should be evaluated by a trained clinician.

Safety Reminder In Elementary Drop Off Loop

As a reminder, if you are dropping off your child at Richard Mann Elementary in the mornings please use the small loop to the left of the main entrance/bus loop. You can either park in the available parking spots and walk your child into school or pull up to the sidewalk and have your child exit the vehicle on the back right side of your car. Safety is our utmost priority, so if you pull up to the sidewalk, we ask you to please refrain from getting out to help your child exit the car as this is dangerous for on-coming traffic and/or other vehicles trying to get out of the parking spots.

Reminder for Dismissal

UPK PM Dismissal (3:45pm): Staff will place students on their buses in the loop or bring students to parents waiting in the small loop. Again, due to the safety hazard, parents should not get out of cars on the left side during dismissal.
