Chargers and Week at a Glance
Remind your students to check their Week-at-a-Glance on Canvas and charge those Chromebooks!
Many students need to replenish their pencil pouches. Please check with them and see if they need more pencils, glue, etc.
Students should have a charged Chromebook each morning. If your student has lost their charger, they may purchase a replacement charger from the Media Center.
Cell Phone Policy
Cell phones are SHUT DOWN and PUT AWAY from 7:30a - 2:20p
- Student are expected to follow EPS expectations for cell phone use.
- There is a progressive plan if students are using their cell phone during the school day.
- If cell phone usage becomes habitual, it can lead to a parent picking up their cell phone in the Front Office.
ID Badges
ALL students must be wearing their ID and it should be visible at all times. Whether it be their school ID on a lanyard OR a temporary ID (sticker) badge, it MUST be worn.
If a student has lost their ID Badge, please replace it in the front office (it does cost money to replace an ID Badge).
If a student has forgotten their ID Badge, the consequence is last in line at lunch and no Snack Bar.
NEW
Students will be charged for an extensive number of temporary badges! Please be sure to use and wear your issued ID Badge.
Message from the 6th Grade Principal
Thunderhawk Families!
We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our students need support from both the home and school. We look forward to building a strong partnership with you to make a lasting impact in your student's education. Here are some simple starting points to get the school year off to a GREAT start:
- ENCOURAGE your student to attend school daily and arrive on time (doors open at 7:10a with school starting at 7:40a)
- ENCOURAGE your student to share the school experience with you so that you are aware of their school life.
- ENCOURAGE your student to inform you or us if they need help in any subject or with friends in their class.
- ENCOURAGE your student to dream about what they want from life as they prepare for this next school year.

Science
Next week, students will learn about Sensory Receptors. We have a few really fun labs to do to help the students explore this topic! Our final exam is on Tuesday, May 21. There are no redos. On the Week 17 module in Canvas, students will have access to the study guide and a review game so they can begin preparing for the final exam!

English
Please keep in mind, Final Exams (tests, presentations, projects, etc.) are not available for corrections or redos.
Please also note, at this time of year most teachers are receiving many, many late assignments, as well as regular assignments, and are doing their best to keep up. It may be helpful to remind your student to send a friendly email to their teacher explaining which late assignments they turned in. Hopefully, this will be helpful to all of us. It takes a village!

Counselor's Corner
The May word of the Month is Discipline. Please visit with your student about having discipline in the last month of school. Discipline with academics and behavior are very important all year but especially these last 3 weeks of school. Please ask your student if they have returned their BLUE ENROLLMENT FORM in? I have around 15 students who have not turned their forms in so I can place them in electives for 7th grade. I’ve already given them another form to bring home for you to help them complete and sign. Let’s finish STRONG and remember to always be KIND.
