December is our SERVICE month at WHS. We look forward for all of our students and staff to explore options on how to serve and help others this month and throughout the year. Our SOS club is hosting a great service project to create hygiene bags for Afghan refugees on Thursday in the Union. We will also have a school-wide service program next week during CORE in addition to a book club and service displays in the Learning Center.

Encourage your students to take part in some of the service opportunities this month!

Upcoming Events

December is SERVICE month!

Westfield High School is excited to focus on monthly themes that are aligned with our Life Ready skills. In addition, these themes match CORE content as well as national/global awareness months.

December’s theme is Service. Our CORE sessions this month will offer enrichment activities encompassing the Service theme. Additionally, there is a monthly nomination form for those students and staff that demonstrate each of our monthly themes. For Service month, these individuals approach life with hope, encouragement and joy. They are appreciative, thankful and enthusiastic. In addition, they continuously encourage others around them.

November Gratitude Winners

November's monthly theme was Gratitude. These individuals were nominated by staff and students for showing gratitude in their daily interactions. They exhibit appreciation and

thankfulness towards others. In addition, they approach life with hope, encouragement and joy.

Congratulations to these individuals!

Attendance Reminders

  • Please remember to call the attendance line BEFORE 10 am if your child has a late arrival or early dismissal or even the evening before.
  • Please SPELL your child's last name when leaving a voicemail on the attendance line.
  • Please make sure to call your child in for ANY school absence.
  • Please be mindful that there are almost 2700 students in the building so calling ahead saves interruptions to class and has your student ready on time.

Parking Permit Wait List

Student drivers: All available parking permits have been issued for the year. A waitlist has been created. To get on the waitlist, please complete the online registration form, and then you MUST bring your valid Driver's license to Mrs. Flickinger at the Information Desk in the Main Office. Completing the online registration alone does not automatically put you on the waitlist or guarantee you a parking permit. Students on the waitlist will be notified on a first come first serve basis as spots become available.

For more details, be sure to see the information on our website regarding Parking Permits. If you have any questions, please email Mr. Harris at harrisd@wws.k12.in.us or Mr. Scanlon at scanlonk@wws.k12.in.us.
