Important Announcements
- Nightly reading goal of 30 minutes. This is extremely important each night! Students will be tracking how many minutes they read each night and have set personal AR goals for the semester.
- We will be having a third grade music performance October 21st at 8:30am in the PAC. Parents are invited and it will last about 30 minutes. Mark your calendars!
- Have you taken pictures at school or any DPS event? The yearbook team would love to have access to them. We have an app that you can download called ReplayIt by Josten's, available for iPhone's and Android phones. When uploading pictures to the ReplayIt site, please tag the students with their name and grade. * Share photos with the yearbook staff * View photos of friends and events * See the school year as it happens. - October Scholastic Orders : Make sure to place your new order by 10/31
- Room Parent needed! We are in great need of a room parent (or two parents who want to share) to help plan classroom parties and many other fun things throughout the year. Please let me know ASAP if you are interested.

Makerspace: Design Challenge
This group created a prototype of a robot that can print anything you need in one second to help their teacher solve her problem of not having enough time in the day to get everything done! What a great idea!

What's Happening in Math and ELA??
- Math: We will be focusing on subtraction strategies this week as well as continue to practice addition strategies, rounding, and graphing. The more practice the students get the better, so please work on this with them at home if you can!
- ELA: We will be starting our second week of Folktales and working on skills such as finding key events, summarizing, and analyzing character traits as how they effect a story. Please click here to be directed to the the Unit 2 parent letter on my website!
