SHS Young Scholars Presents: Schools Supplies to Enrich Lives
February is Black History Month, and this year Sycamore Schools is celebrating by giving back.
From now until February 22, our elementary schools will be collecting toiletries and personal care items. SHS will be collecting school supplies to benefit The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Cincinnati.
The friendly districtwide competition is being hosted by Young Scholars of SHS.
Behind The Scenes Of Fashion For The Cure
Before you join us for Fashion for the Cure on February 23, get a glimpse behind the scenes!
Young and courageous cancer patients walk the catwalk for the annual fashion show benefitting the Dragonfly Foundation. The children, known as Dragonflies, who range in age from toddlers to teenagers, are given the opportunity to design what they wear with the help of SHS fashion design students. SEE1 Joins Renowned Electric Violinist On Stage
Joining SEE1 and Joe Deninzon this year will be singers from the Sycamore HS Choir Program, members of the Sycamore 8th grade Orchestra and the younger rock orchestra Everlasting Monsoon, composed of Sycamore music students in 6th grade.

SHS Student Named Ohio's Top Youth Volunteer of 2018
Senior Bennett Heyn was selected by The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards, a nationwide program honoring young people for outstanding acts of volunteerism.
As the High School State Honoree, Bennett will receive $1,000, an engraved silver medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip in late April to Washington, D.C., where he will join the top two honorees from each of the other states for four days of national recognition events. During the trip, 10 students will be named America's top youth volunteers of 2018.

Sycamore Advisory Commission Seeks New Members
Are you interested in having an impact on the future of your local school district? The Sycamore Community Schools Advisory Commission is seeking at-large members. Any resident of the school district is welcome to apply.
Individuals interested in joining the Sycamore Advisory Commission should complete and return a Sycamore Advisory Commission application. The deadline for submitting an application is one week prior to the March SAC meeting (March 5, 2018). New members are appointed and approved by the Board of Education on an annual basis. SAC officers are elected and approved annually each spring.
An application to become a member-at-large can also be obtained by visiting the Sycamore Board of Education Office at 5959 Hagewa Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio, 45242, or by calling the school district at 513-686-1700.
