Big Idea: Children will hone their nonfiction reading skills by analyzing each page for new learning, vocabulary, and questions.

Writing 4/24-5/25
Big Idea: Children will use what they have learned about the writing process from previous expository units to research, write, and publish independent topics.

•Make predictions based on what I learned.
•Compare and contrast.

Math 4/27-5/16
Joining and separating
I can:
- Model the action of joining to represent addition and the
action of separating to represent subtraction.
Numeration and comparing numbers
I can:
- Collect, sort, and organize data into two or three categories.
- Recite numbers up to least 100 by ones and tens beginning with any given number.
- Count forward and backward to at least 20 with and without objects.

Things to know
- Field day is Friday, May 5th! Please make sure to send your child in tennis shoes this day and check the weather. Parent volunteers for kindergarten will check in at the front office and head to the gym. Ms. Hodge is asking all volunteers to be there by 7:50 that morning.
